The Beddingfield is a wonderful first-floor mini-suite in the 1764 House with a king-size bed that can be converted into two twin beds. The room contains an impressive stone wood-burning fireplace with the original mantel, small-paned French windows, original wide floor planks, and exposed ceiling beams. There is also a separate sitting room with two daybeds suitable for two additional traveling companions. This room is one of our two dog-friendly rooms.

The Canterbury Room, on the first floor of the Manor, is graced with 12-foot ceilings and 11-foot windows, 1820 pumpkin pine floors, as well as an original marble wood-burning fireplace. The room features deep red Ralph Lauren wallpaper and is furnished with a queen-size four-poster bed which overlooks the front lawn and veranda, and loveseat. Two steps down in your room is a full, private bathroom with a bathtub/shower.

The Cromwell Suite occupies the entire first floor of the 1840 addition to the Manor House. Before enjoying a restful night's sleep in the king-size four poster bed, snuggle up in our Turkish cotton robe and enjoy a hot beverage from your in-room coffee maker while relaxing by the fireplace or in the sitting area with a large, flat screen TV. The private bathroom contains a large jacuzzi tub for two and a separate marble shower. With its private outside entrance, the Cromwell Suite is perfect for dressing and taking pictures before a wedding or for a special honeymoon or anniversary celebration.

The Derby is a corner room with a queen-size four poster bed on the second floor of the Manor. Decorated in hunter green, with khaki and red trimmings, the room has two high-back chairs, a coffee table, and a Roku TV, creating a mini living area. This room offers a large, private bathroom with a standard bathtub/shower.

The Hambleton room, on the first floor of the 1764 House, has a queen-size bed. This room has personality! Sitting on the sofa, you can enjoy the warmth and romance of the wood burning fireplace with the original mantel. Next to the fireplace is a marvelous free-standing claw-footed soaking tub. Duck around the chimney to the full private bathroom with a shower stall, deep red floor tiles, and original wood-plank walls. Please note, the ceiling is low at 6’7″ (people were a lot shorter in 1764!).

Climb a narrow and winding staircase in the 1764 House to the Oxfordshire + Gables rooms. The Oxfordshire, with its 20’ high “A” frame ceiling, original hand-hewn exposed beams, and hand-pegged joints, has a queen-size bed and a generous sitting area with an inviting antique-reproduction electric fire stove and two wingback chairs. The original wide floor planks are softened by a richly colored oriental carpet. Skylights enhance the natural cheerfulness of the room. Please note: the ceiling is low at a 6’4″ clearance to the beams. By adding the Gables, a smaller room under the eaves that contains twin beds, this combination suite can accommodate up to four guests. Because the Gables shares a bathroom with the Oxfordshire, is suitable only for traveling companions. This room is one of our two dog-friendly rooms.

On the second floor of the Manor, the Saffron room has soft blue walls trimmed in white and many windows, creating a tranquil, airy room. From the queen-size bed, you gaze past the grand columns of the portico to the 4,000-acre wooded mountains, with nary a house in sight. A white oversized club chair provides a comfortable place to read. This room has a private bathroom with a standard combination bathtub/shower.

From the front windows in the Storm King room on the second floor of the Manor, you have a fantastic view of Black Rock Forest Preserve. Sage green walls and white trim make this room feel tranquil and relaxing. Our only accommodation with two queen-size beds, this room is furnished with an armoire, two armchairs, Roku TV, and an antique dresser, and it has a private bathroom with a standard combination bathtub/shower.
