The Arcarian Room

The Arcarian Room

The Arcarian room, on the second floor of the Manor, occupies the full depth of the building, allowing windows on three sides. An elegant cherry King four-poster bed with a reproduction crocheted canopy is the centerpiece of the bedroom. The room is the original master bedroom and has the original fireplace. A comfortable club chair with ottoman and a view of the rear lawn add to the ambiance. A flat screen television will help you to stay up on current events. The private marble bathroom is exceptionally large, and features an antique claw-foot soaking tub, and a traditional shower. Thickly carpeted and very quiet, an ideal romantic retreat.

The Beddingfield

The Beddingfield

The Beddingfield is a wonderful first floor mini-suite with a King-size bed that can be converted into two twin beds. The room contains an impressive stone wood-burning fireplace with the original mantel, small paned French windows, original wide floor planks and exposed ceiling beams. There is also a separate sitting room with a daybed and ottoman suitable for 2 additional traveling companions.  Perfect room for a girls weekend.

The Canterbury

The Canterbury

The Canterbury Room is opposite the parlor in the Manor. This first floor room is graced with 12' ceilings and 11-foot windows, 1820 pumpkin pine floors, as well as an original marble wood-burning fireplace. A Queen-sized four-poster bed overlooks the front lawn and veranda. A television will help you to stay up on current events. The room is furnished with a loveseat and comfortable chair with wingback chair and ottoman, and features deep red Ralph Lauren wallpaper. Two steps down in your room to a full private bathroom with bathtub/shower.

The Cromwell Suite

The Cromwell Suite

The Cromwell Suite occupies the entire first floor of the 1840 addition to the Manor House. Climb into the king-sized bed, cocooned by sheer panels, and enjoy the original fireplace. A large sitting area with a flat screen television and a leather wingback chair. The private bathroom contains a large jacuzzi tub for 2 and separate marble shower. Perfect for honeymoons and anniversaries, the Cromwell Suite makes a great place for dressing and pictures before a wedding. Private outside entrance.

The Derby

The Derby

The Derby is a corner room on the second floor in the Manor House with many windows. The walls are a saturated hunter green, with khaki and red trimmings. Queen 4 poster bed, 2 wingback chairs, a coffee table and a flat screen television provides a mini living area. A large private bathroom with a standard bathtub/shower.

This is one of our two dog friendly rooms with close access to the back stairs.

The Hambleton

The Hambleton

The Hambleton room, on the first floor of the 1764 House has a queen bed with a tempur-pedic mattress. This room has personality! Enjoy the warmth and romance of the wood burning fireplace with the original mantel. Next to the fireplace is a marvelous free-standing claw-footed soaking tub. Duck around the chimney to the full private bathroom with a shower stall, deep red floor tiles and original wood-plank walls. The room offers a magnificent view of the mountainside and fields directly across from the property. Please note, the ceiling is low at 6'7" (people were a lot shorter in 1764!).

The Oxfordshire

The Oxfordshire

Climb an interesting flight of steep stairs to the Oxfordshire room. This room has a queen bed and a nice sized sitting area with an inviting antique-reproduction electric firestove and 2 chairs. The room has 20’ high "A" frame ceiling with original hand-hewn exposed beams and hand-pegged joints. The original wide floor planks are softened by a richly-colored oriental carpet. Skylights enhance the natural cheerfulness of the room. Please note, 6'4" clearance to beams. With this room, you may choose to add The Gables, a smaller room under the eaves that contains twin beds. It shares a bath with the Oxfordshire, so is suitable only for traveling companions.

The Saffron

The Saffron

Soft blue walls and many windows create a tranquil, airy room trimmed in white. From the Queen-sized  bed you gaze past the grand columns of the portico to the  4000 acre wooded mountains, with nary a house in sight. A white oversized club chair with ottoman provides a comfortable place to read.  A flat screen television will keep you up to date on current events and a private bathroom that has a standard bathtub/shower. Second floor.

The Shetfield

The Shetfield

Creamy taupe walls and white trim make this room feel comfortable and airy.  The comfy Queen-sized bed sits atop a white wooden bed box frame and headboard.  A flat screen television will keep you up to date with current events.  The private bathroom has a standard bathtub/shower.  The front windows overlook the impressive columns of the portico, and the lawn and fields beyond.

The Storm King

The Storm King

From the front windows in The Storm King room, you have a fantastic view of Black Rock Forest Preserve. Sage green walls and white trim make this room feel tranquil and relaxing. Furnished with 2 queen beds,  an armoire,  cozy arm chair,  A flat screen television will keep you up to date on current events and an antique dresser. The private bathroom has a standard bathtub/shower.  The Storm King is one of our two dog friendly rooms with access to the back staircase.

The Wellington

The Wellington

Spacious, stately, The Wellington room is on the first floor and features pumpkin pine floors and a king-size bed. Relax in the comfortable loveseat while being warm by the original marble fireplace. A television will help you to stay up on current events. An impressive 11-foot-high door leads into the large private bathroom. The view from the window is of the side lawn, including an impressive bank of rhododendron.

The Windsor

The Windsor

A spacious, second floor room with a high ceiling, featuring a comfortable four poster king, a white arm chair and wide pumpkin pine floorboards. Ample windows overlook the rear lawn of the Manor House. The walls are painted a relaxing soft taupe. The television will keep you up to date on current events.  Two steps down in your room to the private bathroom with a standard bathtub/shower.

The Gables

The Gables

The Gables is the perfect room for traveling companions who desire separate beds and are traveling with the Oxfordshire Room. Skylights add natural light and cheerfulness. Coupled with the Oxfordshire, the ideal combination for the traveling family.  The Gables may be booked only in combination with the Oxfordshire - it is not available on its own.
